SELLING at the GA/WWS Sale at this year's Melbourne Royal Show on September 15, 2010 - A Laurin from the world class "Elegance" cow family. The dam's components include 4.0% (protein) and 4.7% (fat). Also selling is a Sanchez daughter from the "Cretonnes", which is backed by 9 generations VG or EX. Cretonne's pedigree includes the QUEEN OF ALL BREEDS - "Felicity".

Bluechip's June 2010 classification
Bluechip's latest classification tour lifted the number of EX cows to 28 - 20% of all cows on-farm. The awards included two 94 and two 93-point cows. The best news is that these animals all came from deep pedigrees that will feature in the Blue Ribbon II sale on May 9, 2011.

Sydney Royal Easter Show 2010

For the first time Bluechip Genetics made the 730km trip to the Sydney Royal Easter Show to exhibit recently. Although Dean Malcolm had been a regular at the show over many years, fitting cattle for his clients, this was the first formal outing for Bluechip Genetics under Dean and Dianna's banner in New South Wales. Bluechip was also the sole Victorian exhibitor to mix it with the NSW exhibitors on their home turf.

Classication update - December 2009
Bluechip's December 2009 classification resulted in 26 Holsteins averaging 87.3 points, including two EX92, one EX91 and four EX90 scores. Ten two-year-old heifers averaged 84.7 points and included seven VG heifers (two with 86 points and five at 85 points). The Jersey classification included an Australian equal-first EX94 score, an EX92, EX90 and a VG88 maximum score. Read on for the breakdowns...

Storming run at 2009 Adelaide Royal - September 2009
Bluechip exhibited seven animals (representing three partnerships from three states), taking home six broad ribbons - including Supreme Champion Dairy Cow (Jersey), Supreme Junior Champion (Holstein), Junior and Reserve Junior Holstein and Reserve Junior Illawarra. The highlights from Bluechip's first classification tour under the Canadian multi-breed system included a new Excellent-91, a Very Good-89 (max) and three Very Good-86 scored heifers. Four of the six highest scored animals were all from imported cow families.
